【Part 4; Bus】
The next day on 14 March 2019, I took a long distance bus from Urumqi to Almaty.
I checked out the hotel at 11:35 and went here first ↓
However, this bus terminal is out of service from 1 February 2019.
The notice says the new bus terminal is next to the Urumqi North Railway Station.
This building next to the station is the new one.

You can show this to the staff.
The ticket price is 440 RMB (70 USD) for an upper seat and 460 RMB for a lower seat.
The bus departs at around 19:00 every day. Twice a day in summer if there are many passengers. Most of them are vendors so it takes a long time at customs (or pay an extra charge to skip the check).
The bus departed at 18:40 on 14 March. I arrived at Khorgas border the next morning. I've checked at the Chinese immigration from 15:30 to 18:40, then passed the Kazakh immigration at 20:00. I finally arrived at Almaty at 2:00 on 16 March (Chinese time).
If you have money, I recommend you to take a flight.
